POS Terminal Software from ASHBURN International Used by LP EXPRESS

It has become commonplace for many of us to order goods via Internet and later get them delivered by couriers.

In most cases, Internet purchases are paid either through Internet banking or in cash - to the courier who brings you the parcel. From now LP EXPRESS offers its customers the opportunity to pay for goods with payment cards.

"We strive to provide our customers with the highest quality and most convenient services. The payment for the delivered parcel on the spot with a card is much more convenient, for clients don‘t need to search for the exact amount in cash - or run to a nearby ATM in order to withdraw the required amount; there is also no need to perform a lengthy procedure of entering the Internet banking system with your desktop," says Juozas Buitkus, head of the Baltic Post (a subsidiary of JSC Lietuvos pastas, which provides LP EXPRESS courier services).

The results of the consumer habits study ordered by JSC Lietuvos paštas show that the majority of Lithuanians prefer to pay for goods ordered via Internet upon their delivery.

The LP EXPRESS couriers are "armed" with Ingenico portable POS terminals for various (magnetic, chip, and contactless) payment cards. The project is implemented in cooperation with ASHBURN International, which develops and implements payment card authorization solutions and sells payment terminals.

"All devices use our specialized TransLink.iQ software package, which allows real-time monitoring of all devices, updating their settings and software. This specialized software solution provides reliable, secure and fast financial operations - which are controlled by our specialists round the clock," says Dominikas Mertinas, director of business development at ASHBURN International.

This is not the first joint project implemented by ASHBURN International and a JSC Lietuvos paštas subsidiary. This past spring, post offices in Lithuania‘s largest cities and regional centers were equipped with integrated terminals for multi-bank payments, allowing customers to more conveniently and quickly pay for goods and services.
